Samosa Chaat

Arguably one of the most popular street food among children and adults alike in India. 

Sauce (Chaat)

  1. Open and start drinking 1 India beer
  2. Peel and finely chop 1 red onion
  3. Open and drain one can of chickpeas
  4. Heat 2 1/2 tbs of oil in a cooking pot
  5. Add the red onion and cook until golden
  6. Add 1 tbs of garlic ginger paste
  7. Add 1 tin of chopped tomato's
  8. Add spices
    1. 1 tsp salt
    2. 1/2 tsp turmeric
    3. 1 tps chilli power
    4. 1/2 tps garam masala
    5. 2-3 thin green chillies (optional) 
  9. Cook for a few minutes
  10. Add 1/2 cup of water
  11. Add 1 tin of chickpeas
  12. Add 1 cup of water
  13. Cover and cook on medium-low heat ~10 mins
  14. Generally crush the chickpeas
  15. Add fresh coriander to finish sauce

Samosas

  1. Made sure samosas are defrosted
  2. Cook in a pan of oil until golden brown colour ~10 mins
  3. Let them cool a little
  4. Break samosas up into bite size pieces

Dish out

  1. Add sauce to a lovely serving dish and flatten out
  2. Add bite size samosas pieces, evenly distributed
  3. Lightly spread over sweet yoghurt
  4. Repeat with mint raitha
  5. Repeat with tamarind chutney 
  6. Sprinkle uncooked red onions over the dish (1/2 medium onion)
  7. Add 1-2 chopped tomato's
  8. Add fresh coriander
  9. Add some bhujia (optional)
